There was a time in Finland, year 1983 to be precise – that a girl was born in Kemi, a freezing cold city in the heart of the finnish archipelago. The first thing the nurses did was to comb a Mohawk of her thick, dark hair.

I was interested in Greek mythology as a kid, my aunt was a flight attendant and she sent me post cards from all over the world – one place more exotic than the other. I wanted to get away; it woke my sense of adventure and made me realize that there was a whole world to discover out there. My biggest idols were Indiana Jones (he made me want to become a archeologist and explorer) and Mc Gyver, he was the toughest guy in the world – he could build the biggest thing out of nothing (and he made bombs out of paperclips and clay, how cool isn’t that?).

We (my mom and stepdad) moved to Sweden when I was 5 years old. There wasn’t many kids in my age that shared the same interests – so I spent most of my time drawing and painting, and trying to solve world problems, building stone age weapons and reading about dinosaurs.

It was rough to grow up different, and on top of that: I came out as a bisexual when I was 14years old. I had a girlfriend that didn’t treat me so good and soon ended up on the street.  No love, no money, no life.

But I knew my life had a bigger meaning.

By 18 and a half years of age I made a change. I moved, studied and improved my grades and got in to art school. Studied classic painting and drawing techniques for a year, but soon found out that I wanted to find a new way to express myself – something more instant.  I wanted to use my body as the brush. I started to study Performance Art, and freelanced as a performer for a couple of years in northern Scandinavia.

I moved to Norway for a year (directly after my studies) to get to know my dad – who is a surgeon assistant and artist (painter).

I had already decided that I didn’t want to live in Norway for more than a year, and spent the time to figure out what I wanted to do in life (at the same time as I was getting to know my dad). I knew I wanted to do something creative – and inspire people to be creative as well. To bring out their own, inner creativity. A 9-5 job wasn’t anything for me, since I spent more energy redecorating the lunch room at work (in my head) than to help exceeding the sales of the grocery store.

One day it hit me – I should work with art and design, but as a distributor. I wanted to have a store that sold the designs of new, upcoming designers plus had art exhibitions with upcoming artist.

I knew all the time that I wanted to move back to Sweden, but I knew that there wasn’t a market for my company in the north (plus that it’s friggin cold up there..).

I googled schools in south of Sweden and found one close to Gothenburg (I thought that it’s better to live close to Gothenburg and start the business there, since the west coast of Sweden didn’t have anything like that). I got accepted to the first school I applied to.

Studied music the first year and textile the second year.

I had my first collection done and runway show of it in the spring of 2007. The collection was called “Candy”.

There will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth!
